Headquarters
  DETAILS   The Cyprus Association of Physiotherapists  (C.A.P.) headquarters are in Nicosia and there is a full-time secretary. The association holds monthly executive meetings and furthers liasions with other health care professions and authorities. The association does not hold membership in any trade union.

Physiotherapy Education
  INFORMATION AND NUMBERS  
There is one Physiotherapy Education program in Cyprus and is offered by European University Cyprus, which is a private university (http://www.euc.ac.cy/).


Status of profession
  TITLE AND REGULATIONS ON THE PROFESSION   Professional Title/ Qualification: ΦυσιοθεραπευτÞς(Physiotherapist) The title and the professional activity is protected by the state. The rules of professional conduct are determined directly by the state through national legislation. The physiotherapist must be state registrated and obtain a licence to practice. Cyprus has a code of ethics for physiotherapists. The national authority responsible for the physiotherapy profession in Cyprus is the Ministry of Health. There are sufficient employment opportunities for physiotherapists in the country.

Practice of physiotherapy
  INSURANCE AND PRACTICE REGULATIONS   The physiotherapy services in Cyprus now are determined by the profession. The physiotherapist is now allowed to determine the clinical intervention of physiotherapy him/herself since the 2005 amendment of the legislation. Cyprus offers both private and public physiotherapy services. The insurance cover for physiotherapy is paid through the national health care system in some cases and/or privately by the patient either in the public or private sector.

Twinning
  The Cyprus Association has not yet established any twinning program but the association hereby announces its wishes to do so.
