Headquarters
  DETAILS   The Czech Physiotherapy Association has its own headquarter and one staff employee and managing director. The association holds regular executive meetings once a month and furthers liasions with other health care professions and authorities. The Czech Physiotherapy Association does not hold membership in any trade union.

Physiotherapy Education
  INFORMATION AND NUMBERS  

The Czech association has no education department. There are 14 physiotherapy schools at university level graduating approx. 400 students per year. The physiotherapy qualification leads to an academic degree (Bachelor and Master). The university training goes on for 3 years to an academic degree Bachelor in Physiotherapy (180 ECTS) and 2 years to an Master level (120 ECTS). All schools offer Bachelor degree studying programme, 4 of them offer Master programme. Studies allow for postgraduate education. The education of physiotherapists graduated on the High school level (according the previous educating system) is presently fully respected.


Status of profession
  TITLE AND REGULATIONS ON THE PROFESSION  

Professional Title/ Qualification: Fyzioterapeut. The Czech state has not protection of the title. The professional activity is regulated by law. The Czech republic has established a code of ethics for physiotherapists. The national authority responsible for the physiotherapy profession in Czech republic is the Ministry of Health. There is no information on unemployment of physiotherapists.


Practice of physiotherapy
  INSURANCE AND PRACTICE REGULATIONS  

The physiotherapy services in the Czech republic are not determined by the profession. Czech republic offers both public and private physiotherapy services. The physiotherapy service is paid both through the national health care system and privately the patient.


Twinning
  The Czech Association has established a twinning program with the United Kingdom to an estimated cost of 17.187 Euro. Funding from another source (government / EU) has been received: 10.937 Euro.
